KOLKATAWOOD 2025: A Catalyst for Eastern India’s Wood and Furniture Sector

Nuernberg Messe India has officially announced KOLKATAWOOD 2025, Eastern India’s first large-scale exhibition dedicated to the woodworking, furniture, and mattress manufacturing sectors. The event will be held from September 12–14, 2025, at Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan, Kolkata, bringing together 150+ leading brands from across the sector.

As an extension of the successful INDIAWOOD series in Bengaluru and Delhi, and MUMBAIWOOD in Western India, KOLKATAWOOD marks a strategic expansion to tap into Eastern India’s rapidly growing real estate and lifestyle markets. The exhibition will feature live product demonstrations, B2B matchmaking, and skilling sessions, designed to connect innovation with local business needs.

The announcement has been met with optimism. With urbanisation and consumer spending on the rise, demand for modular kitchens, modern furniture, and ergonomic sleep solutions has grown significantly. Local suppliers and retailers believe KOLKATAWOOD will provide access to advanced technologies and streamlined supply chains, strengthening their ability to serve a new generation of design-conscious customers. Speaking on the launch, Sonia Prashar, MD & Chairperson of Nuernberg Messe India, said: “Eastern India is no longer a peripheral market—it is an emerging hub with national potential. KOLKATAWOOD 2025 will be the region’s dedicated platform to drive that transformation.”
