Three-time Grammy Award winner Diplo is set to headline the second day of the Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival, organisers announced, adding a major international name to what is emerging as one of India’s most ambitious music events this year. The American DJ and producer, ranked among the top 10 most-streamed artists in electronic music history, joins an already stellar lineup for the two-day festival on November 14–15 at JN Stadium, Polo Grounds. Day 1 will feature global stars including Jason Derulo, The Script, and Nora Fatehi. Organisers said they are finalising a live music headliner for Day 2 to perform alongside Diplo.
Diplo’s collaboration with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan for the movie Jab Harry Met Sejal, where he contributed to the music production and appeared in the hit song “Phurrr,” highlights his crossover influence into India’s music and film industry. Since its inception, the Cherry Blossom Festival has rapidly gained prominence, claiming four Gold Awards at Wow Asia last year, including Festival of the Year and Entertainment Event of the Year, surpassing even established events like Sunburn. Ticket sales for Day 2 are available at Phase 1 pricing on RockskiTickets.com, with organisers warning of price hikes closer to the event.
Nora Fatehi, making her Indian festival debut on opening night, adds further international appeal following her collaboration with Jason Derulo on Snake, which has over 130 million views globally. “Her dynamic energy and global reach are a perfect match for the spirit of the festival,” said Jason Manners of the organising committee.
