From missed calls to digital trust: Truecaller reaches 500 million users worldwide

Truecaller crossing 500 million users globally marks a significant inflection point in the economics of digital communication, as demand for spam and fraud protection accelerates across markets. The platform added over 50 million users in 2025 alone, underscoring strong adoption momentum driven by increasing exposure to unwanted and fraudulent communication.

India remains the central growth engine with over 350 million users, while international markets contribute 150 million users. The company’s ability to scale monetisation is reflected in crossing 4 million paying subscribers globally, strengthening its subscription-based revenue model. CEO Rishit Jhunjhunwala said the milestone highlights a structural shift in user behaviour, with individuals actively seeking tools to manage communication risks. He added that the company is targeting one billion users, supported by investments in advanced technology and user protection capabilities.

With over one billion downloads and 68 billion spam and fraud calls identified in 2025, Truecaller has evolved into a critical digital utility layer. Despite its global scale, it operates with a lean workforce of around 470 employees, indicating high operational efficiency.
