Centenary Celebrations Held as SBI Shillong Branch Completes 100 Years

On Monday, the State Bank of India branch in Shillong commemorated 100 years of service to the people of Meghalaya, marking a significant milestone. “Celebrating a Milestone of Service, Trust and Commitment to the Community” was the subject of the centennial celebration, which took place in the U Soso Tham Auditorium in Shillong.The program started with the history gallery’s opening, which was followed by the ceremonial lamp being lit and the theme song being performed by SBI Shillong Branch staff. To commemorate the event, unique centennial stamps were issued. Shillong Lok Sabha constituency MP Ricky A. J. Syngkon, who was the event’s principal guest, praised the State Bank of India for its century-long support of regional development and nation-building, especially in Meghalaya. He emphasized how the bank helps small companies, empowers communities, and promotes financial literacy.

Senior bank executives, clients, and members of the public who have been connected to the Shillong Branch over the years were present at the ceremony.Anootpol Roy, assistant general manager of SBI Shillong Branch, discussed the bank’s role in fostering financial inclusion, encouraging entrepreneurship, and advancing the socioeconomic development of the area in a speech to reporters on the occasion. He reiterated the bank’s dedication to customer-focused services, digital banking, and innovation.The event featured interactive seminars, cultural performances, and film presentations.
