The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) reported that heavy rains between June 10 to 17 resulted in the deaths of two individuals and impacted numerous villages across Meghalaya. The deceased were identified as Probino Warbah, 48, from Tynring village in East Khasi Hills district, and Kantly Maram, 49, from Nongkroh Rambrai in West Khasi Hills district. Warbah drowned in the Umrynjah river on June 7, with his body being recovered on June 10. Maram was struck by lightning on June 12. The intense rainfall affected a total of 3,037 people across 42 villages.
