On April 28, the Meghalaya Football Association will start moving between districts

According to MFA General Secretary Sunesh Syiem, the Meghalaya Football Association's 2025 inter-district transfer for football players would start on April 28, 2025. From April 28 to May 10 from 3 to 5 p.m., every day except Sunday, transfer forms in triplicate will be available from the MFA office at the JN Stadium, Polo, Shillong, for a fee of Rs 100 each set. The club is to keep the yellow forms, the district association is to keep the white forms, and the MFA office is to get the pink forms. Forms that do not include the player's photos will not be approved. Players must physically sign the register at the MFA office and pay a Rs 1,000 transfer fee in order to finalize the transfer. IOA confirms Meghalaya as host of 39th National Games in 2027

Meghalaya has officially been confirmed as the host for the 39th National Games in 2027. Sports Minister Shakliar Warjri on Sunday announced that both the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and the central government have accepted Meghalaya’s request to host the Games. As per officials, while Shillong will be the main host city for the 39th National Games, Tura and Jowai will also host various sporting disciplines during the event. The state has been upgrading its sports facilities, including the JN Sports Complex in Shillong, Wahiajer Stadium in Jaintia Hills, and the PA Sangma Integrated Sports Complex in Tura.These projects are part of Meghalaya’s initiative to boost sports development across the state.
