Two individuals were arrested for stealing a gold ornament

Two individuals, Kenny Kharmujat and Subroto Baidya, were apprehended in Lumshyiap, Nongmensong, for the theft of a gold ornament.The suspects, believed to be drug users, fled towards Police Bazar via Jail Road.A police team, consisting of SI I Warjri, UBC/AD Sangma, and CRPF, captured the suspects near the Kim Hyundai showroom.A gold pendant was retrieved from Kenny.The SP (city), H Kharkongor, urged citizens who have recently experienced theft or have lost gold ornaments under dubious circumstances to submit a formal complaint at the Sadar police station.

According to Enlang, the defamatory and inflammatory content not only misrepresents the tribal people of Meghalaya but also poses a serious threat to communal harmony.

The Meghalaya High Court on Wednesday made some modifications in the vending hours earlier imposed on street vendors in Khyndailad area of Shillong. The high court, on July 3, hearing a plea filed by Meghalaya and Greater Shillong Progressive Hawkers and Street Vendors Association, had restricted vending hours from 12:30 pm to 2 pm and 7:30 pm to 9 pm. However, in its latest order on Wednesday, the Bench of Chief Justice IP Mukerji and Justice W Diengdoh allowed a slight modification, granting vendors an additional 30 minutes for setting up and 15 minutes for packing up during each vending session.
