Meghalaya: MBOSE rationalises English,Social Sciences textbooks of classes 9 and 10

The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has rationalsed the prescribed English and Social Sciences textbooks for classes 9 and 10. In a letter notifed to all schools under MBOSE, Executive Chairman of MBOSE CP Marak informed that the rationalised textbooks will be effective from the 2025 academic session until further orders. Detail rationalised topics will be available in the board's website www.mbose.in

The opening of Captain Williamson Sangma State institution, Meghalaya's first state-owned institution, was a momentous event. Speaker Thomas A. Meghalaya Govt intiates award for artists, to amend state anthem

The Meghalaya Cabinet has approved guidelines to formulate the Art and Heritage Award. The Award will be for performing arts, folk music, dance, drama, theatre, craftsmanship, etc. A committee will be headed by the Chief Secretary and members of the Arts & Culture Dept for selection of awardees. Apart for that, the Cabinet has also decided to amend the State Anthem. Chief Minister SangmaConrad informed that the amendment comes after the suggestions from Jaintia Hills. The amendment will include a few lines in Pnar. The improved State Anthem will be unveiled in the Meghalaya Games held in Jowai this year.
