Meghalaya University is responsible for flood in Assam says Himanta Biswa Sarma

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has accused private University of Meghalaya over maximum flood in the region. University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM), founded by Mahbubul Hoque who is also its chancellor. The University is located in 9th Mile area in Ri-Bhoi district of neighbouring Meghalaya, near Assam’s Jorabat which serves as an entry point to Guwahati, Assam. Assam govt aiming to create new posts of graduate teacher in schools

A cabinet meeting, chaired by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced for creation of new post in the schools i.e. graduate teacher position for mathematics in the schools of Assam. According to the sources, separate graduate teachers position will be created including 1, 766 posts for this position. Other than this, the Assam cabinet has also approved the recruitment of 221 third and fourth-grade positions in 11 polytechnics and two engineering colleges across the state. Assam CM added saying, "We have asked the governing bodies of these institutions to conduct recruitment for these posts and the salary against the said posts will be given from the state budget, without the need for outsourcing."

Assam Government has been working on cutting down child marriages in the state. So far many initiatives, operations has been implemented in the state with strict rules and regulations against child marriage. To motivate girl students for education, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has now again introduced a new government initiative, Mukhya Mantrir Nijut Moina Asoni (MMNMA), which will offer financial assistance to female students. He said, "Each eligible girl student enrolled in Class 11 will receive an incentive of Rs 1000/- per month for a maximum of ten months, a total of Rs 10,000/- per year. The Gauhati High Court has issued an order to collect the bodies of the dead teenagers

The Gauhati High Court has directed families of three Hmar youths who died under mysterious circumstances in Assam's Cachar district to collect their bodies from Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) morgue. The bodies have been preserved at SMCH mortuary since July 17. This followed the youths' deaths. These events have stirred considerable controversy and grief in the community.
