An uncommon view of Mandarin Ducks near Manas National Park

In the Baksa district of Assam, near Manas National Park and Tiger Reserve, a rare Mandarin duck with bright, colorful plumage was spotted in the designated forest region. The sighting took place on December 18 about 3:20 PM and was confirmed by Edison Basumatary and Tomal Gogoi, researchers with the Manas Maozigendri Eco-Tourism Society (MMES). Since this is the first time the Mandarin duck has been spotted in Lower Assam, conservationists and birdwatchers are thrilled. At Manas National Park, a picnic area is opened

Winter has arrived, and on the morning of December 20, a picnic area was opened in the Manas National Park beside the Beki River. The Forest Picnic Management Committee and several other committees attended the inauguration ceremony. The picnic place is located in the Bahbari range of this World Heritage Site's Nayanguri region. The picnic area offers enough of parking for cars entering the property, and as a result, a fee has been set for each vehicle. Visitors must pay Rs 500 for buses, Rs 400 for travelers, and Rs 300 for Magic. As a result, private two-wheelers cost Rs 50 and four-wheelers Rs 200. Additionally, rafting and safaris are available to picnickers. Men's and women's restrooms are available separately.
