
The Meghalaya Police have made significant strides in the investigations into the murder cases in Ichamati and Mawlai-Mawroh, with the apprehension of two additional suspects on April 23rd. According to authorities, one individual was arrested in Mawlai, while the other was detained in Nongthymmai. The arrest made in connection with the Arjun Ray murder case in Mawlai-Mawroh marks a pivotal breakthrough, representing the first arrest in that particular investigation. Additionally, this development constitutes the third arrest in the ongoing probe into the Ichamati twin murder case.
This recent development follows earlier arrests on April 2nd, wherein two individuals, Shambor Shati (26) from Wah Utim, and Meshadapbor Skhembill from Saitsohpen, Sohra, were apprehended for their alleged involvement in the Ichamati murder case. The victims, who were employed in limestone quarries, tragically succumbed to a brutal assault reportedly perpetrated by unidentified assailants.
Their lifeless bodies were discovered along a roadside in Ichamati, sending shockwaves through the local community. Furthermore, on April 10th, Arjun Ray met a similar fate, falling victim to a fatal assault in Mawlai-Mawroh.
