Assam to get first semiconductor assembly and test facility

Assam to get the first ‘Tata semiconductor assembly and test facility’ in the state. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in the presence of Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran will perform Bhumi Pujan at Assam’s Morigaon district on Saturday.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of semiconductor plant on March 13.

The Assam CM through his social media handle shared, “Look forward to be in Jagiroad shortly and initialise work on the semiconductor facility by performing the Bhumi Pujan of the plant. Today is a historic day for Assam as HCM Dr@himantabiswa will perform the Bhumi Pujan of the Tata Semiconductor Assembly and test facility at Jagiroad. Once operational, it will transform the industrial landscape of Assam and herald a new era of growth.”

However, about the greenfield project of Tata Electronics is of Rs 27,000 crore which will generate employment opportunities for more than 30,000 people.
